Following our very successful move to The Swan Hotel in Alcester, this year's Summer festival looks like being the best ever singers festival. It will be fully acoustic and will remain a small friendly singers festival. There will be concerts in the Swan Hotel and the Town Hall, Folk clubs hosted by Bromsgrove folk club and others in the Swan. There will also be singarounds in the Swan and in the Holly Bush pub.  At this time I am investigating another venue and will let you know ASAP. Story telling will take place in the Swan as will the now famous "Singing Breakfast" led by Alhambra.  Use this opportunity to take advantage of the breakfast at The Swan, very good value at £5.00 per head for a full English plus tea or coffee!! Don't forget to wander down the High street which has small independent shops and lots of charity shops as well as cafes and pubs, but also don't miss a walk into Malt Mill Lane where the black and white houses will be decorated with flowers in hanging baskets. Of course you will want to sample the real ale in The Swan Hotel (our main venue) and also in the Holly Bush another old unspoilt pub. Morris dancers will entertain you in the street and also in the garden of the Holly Bush and you can try your hand at Morris dancing by joining in with Sue White and her Wild Thyme Border Morris side. You can also be entertained by Step on Board a clog dancing side from Bromsgrove. There will be a small craft market where you might be able to find a bargain you just can't live without. The campsite will be on our usual field which is surrounded by rivers and it has been said is the prettiest campsite around. The venues are all in the town so loved by our regular festival audience. St Nicholas Church will hold a service on Sunday morning for any folkies who would like to join them. Alcester Summer Folk Festival   15th 16th 17th June 2012
